what do termites look like
Are termites playing Hide-And-Go-Seek in your home . . . only you aren’t looking for them, or don’t know where to look? Do you have a brick veneer home like the one in this video? Maybe you don’t have a brick home, but instead the exterior of your home is finished with stucco, concrete siding, vinyl or even wood siding. Take a minute to stop and think about how YOUR home is built.
Some homes have a blended exterior finish such as brick front and concrete siding, or a stone front with brick sides. All of these types of exterior finishes hide many weak spots, or voids, that are not easy, practical or possible to inspect all the way around the home with 100% accuracy.
The National Pest Management Association says that “Termites alone cause over $5 billion in property damage annually, a cost not covered by homeowners insurance.” and that “Subterranean termites eat 24/7, making them the most destructive species of termite found in the U.S.”
Subterranean termites are the type of termites we have in Fayetteville Georgia and most of the Southeastern United States, making our region one of the highest termite activity areas in the country.
The bad news is that many people either don’t know how much damage termites can cause OR they simply wait until termites are a problem before taking action to stop them from eating their home from floor to ceiling . . . causing thousands in damage that CAN be prevented.
The GOOD news is that you don’t have to wait until termites have attacked your home to begin the protection process! It doesn’t matter if you know you have termite activity in your home, or if you simply want to minimize the risk and prevent termites from becoming a major problem.
As you can see in this video, termites can be present for a long time in areas that are not easy to detect, even with superior technology and experience.
