HOUSTON (AP) — Police continued to search Thursday for the person who sexually assaulted and killed an 11-year-old girl before placing her body underneath her bed in her family’s suburban Houston apartment.Police in the Houston suburb of Pasadena said Maria Gonzalez had been home alone at around 10 a.m. on Saturday when someone knocked at her front door.The girl texted her father, Carmelo Gonzalez, 32, who had just gone to work.In an interview with KHOU, Carmelo Gonzalez said he told his daughter not to answer the front door.Maria Gonzalez said she wouldn’t and would stay in her bed. (AP) — State labor officials have temporarily shut down more than two dozen Boston Market restaurants in New Jersey after finding multiple violations of workers’ rights, including more than $600,000 in back wages owed to 314 employees.A stop-work order was issued Tuesday by the Department of Labor against 27 restaurants across New Jersey. Worcester police asked for the public’s help Thursday afternoon after police said a non-custodial parent took two of her biological children from a site on Brussel Street. Police identified the woman who allegedly took the children as Tiffany Cancel, 47. Police also identified the children as 11-year-old Joaquin Cancel and 9-year-old Avery Cancel.
