Pool worker treated for chemical burns following possible explosion in Alameda

(KRON) -- A pool worker was transported to a trauma center with chemical burns following a hazardous materials incident and possible explosion Friday, according to the City of Alameda Fire Department. The fire department is currently on the scene of the incident, which occurred in the 900 block of Shorepoint Court.Units were dispatched to the location on a report of an explosion just after 9 a.m., firefighters said. At the scene, firefighters found a man suffering from chemical burns who was later transported to Highland Hospital.Photo: Alameda FDThe Alameda County Fire Department HazMat Team is also on the scene assisting, firefighters said. (BCN) -- Three executives of a San Francisco-based construction planning firm were charged Thursday for allegedly bribing employees of the city's Department of Building Inspection, federal prosecutors said.One of the executives, Siavash "Sia" Tahbazof, was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California said in a statement. PALMETTO BAY, Fla. (WSVN) – Security cameras captured proof of a late-night robbery at a photo shop in Palmetto Bay. Pitman Photo Supply in Palmetto Bay has all kinds of cameras — from Nikon, Kodak and Canon — but last week, a pair of crooks hit up the store and were eyeing cameras on the stands and shelves.“The guys were in and out really quick,” said Lauren Elsea, the store’s operations manager.But a different kind of camera was eyeing the crooks.“So I got the alert when they were at the door, and I was able to watch them breaking in as I was on the phone with the cops,” she said.Security cameras in and outside of the store captured the early morning heist on Nov. 2.The burglars were seen smashing their way inside. All northbound lanes on the Florida Turnpike extension in Miramar were shut down after a tractor-trailer rolled over, spilling fuel and construction materials over part of the highway. Miramar Fire Rescue and Florida Highway Patrol Troopers arrived at the scene, Friday afternoon. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where the trailer lay on its side on the on-ramp of the Turnpike extension. No injuries were reported. Drivers were allowed to go around the truck by going through the shoulder. As of 5 p.m., the truck is clocking the ramp that goes from the Homestead extension coming eastbound to the Turnpike northbound.Crews were able to put the trailer back on its wheels as they attempt to tow it away. Road rangers are diverting traffic near the intersection University Drive and 27th Avenue until crews fully remove the trailer and complete cleanup efforts, which is estimated to take over an hour. A 4-year-old girl has died days after, police said, she was accidentally shot by her younger brother in Northwest Miami-Dade.The mother of Josalyn Marie Taylor-Rolle on Thursday confirmed the death of her daughter.According to Miami-Dade Police, the child was shot by her sibling on Sunday afternoon after he got his hands on a loaded gun that was left unattended at the family’s home near Northwest 21st Avenue and 82nd Street.Paramedics rushed the young victim to Ryder Trauma Center, where she remained in critical condition until her passing.Police identified 25-year-old Quavanta Ennels as the individual in possession of the loaded gun. Several migrants were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard Friday morning after their boat sank in the Florida Keys.https://twitter.com/USCGSoutheast/status/1723083187788644645According to the Coast Guard, 34 migrants were found clinging to the partially sunken vessel about 20 miles off of Marathon.
