Skeletal remains identified as missing Wood River man

WOOD RIVER, Ill – Veron L. Law, 36, lived in Wood River, has been identified as the person whose skeletal remains have been found. He was last seen in July 2022. The remains were examined by Madison County Coroner Steve Nonn who confirmed that they were Law's through matching dental records. There is no evidence of foul play. Four people, including two children, suffered critical injuries in a head-on collision in Riverside early Tuesday, authorities said.The collision occurred around 7:30 a.m. at Arlington and Stover avenues, and involved a Nissan sedan and a white Honda sedan.The male driver of the Nissan and three passengers, including two juveniles, were rushed to a hospital in critical condition, a Riverside police spokesperson told KTLA. The driver of a 2022 Dodge Charger was spotted by police doing burnouts at the intersection of Vernon Avenue and Figueroa Street in the Vermont Square neighborhood of South L.A.
