Metro A Line loses power in downtown L.A.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews are responding Tuesday morning after the Metro A Line lost power in downtown Los Angeles.The Metro line — a light rail that runs from Azusa to Long Beach — lost power around 9:35 a.m. and around 200 people were on a train when it went out, LAFD spokesman Nicolas Prange told KTLA.Firefighters were helping people off the train and no injuries have been reported. Metro officials are providing a bus between Pico and Union Station and will try to initiate power once the tracks are cleared. Fire officials first reported the Red Line -- now the B Line -- was affected, but Metro officials later clarified that line was not affected. A person is dead after they crashed while driving a golf cart in La Quinta Monday evening.The single-vehicle crash occurred just after 6 p.m. at Trilogy Parkway and Desert Rose Drive, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said in a news release.The cause of the collision remains under investigation, but the unidentified driver was pronounced dead at the scene."At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision," officials said in the release.Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Moore at 760-863-8990.'Blue Beetle' benefits from $4 movie tickets on National Cinema Day

It doesn’t make any sense. But it’s alive and moving,'” Bandi was quoted Tuesday in The Canberra Times newspaper.“It continued to move with vigor. WALNUT CREEK — A pedestrian was hospitalized Monday after being hit by a car that was coming out of a parking garage, officials said.The collision happened on S. Main Street and Botelho Drive and caused police to shut down S. Main Street for about an hour.The pedestrian went by ambulance to John Muir Medical Center with injuries that officials said were not life-threatening.According to city spokesperson Betsy Burkhart, police spoke to the driver who showed no signs of impairment. Police did not arrest anyone.Burkhart said the driver was turning out of the Macy’s parking garage at Broadway Plaza and hit the person who was in the crosswalk.Police re-opened the S.
