APD: Schenectady man menaced woman with gun in Albany ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Schenectady man was arrested on Thursday after menacing a woman with a semi-automatic long rife on South Pearl Street. On Thursday, around 7:40 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of South Pearl Street for reports of a person with a weapon. Upon arrival, the victim told police Pitts had approached her car with a long rife, pointed it at her car door, and told her he needed a ride. Police say they later found Pitts on South Pearl Street and took him into custody. Law enforcement says he was found with a loaded semi-automatic long rife. No one was injured during the incident. The winner entered the store to purchase gas and a soda, then decided to try their luck with a 'Super Cash Bonanza' game ticket. The Scratchers ticket they purchased held one of the game's $2 million top prizes. "I went in to buy my Diet Coke, and when I opened my wallet, I had two singles and a $20 bill," the winner said. LOUIS COUNTY -- The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged 75-year-old Richard Laususe with a hit-and-run on Thursday, August 31. Laususe is currently in jail on a cash-only bond of $250,000. Michael Murray, a 62-year-old homeless individual, was discovered deceased at the accident scene, with injuries consistent with those typically sustained in a car accident. On August 24, the suspect was driving a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C350 south on Halls Ferry Road, near Sun Valley Drive, when he struck the victim. A fragment of the defendant's vehicle was left at the scene, later matched to a Mercedes-Benz C350 registered to Laususe.
