Police in the District have identified the male victim from Bowie, Maryland, who was killed Friday in a residential area near Benning Terrace Recreation Center in Southeast.In a news release, the department said that just before 5 p.m. officers were called for a reported shooting to the 600 block of 46th Place in the Benning Ridge neighborhood of Southeast D.C.At the scene, officers found a male shooting victim, 27-year-old Malik Haggans, in the hallway of a residential building.After being examined by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, officials say Haggans appears to have died at the scene of the shooting.Police ask anyone with information to call 202-727-9099, or text a tip anonymously by sending a message to 50411.Approximate location of the shooting in Southeast, D.C.SourceWorld’s biggest recreational bike ride begins anew for golden anniversary trek across Iowa

DENVER (KDVR) -- A woman is dead and a man is in the hospital after a head-on crash in Steamboat Springs Sunday.It happened around 12:14 p.m. on Highway 40 at milepost 126. https://kdvr.com/news/local/motorcyclist-dead-after-crash-in-fort-collins/ Two pickup trucks collided head-on. Police are investigating reports of a possible armed robbery aboard a yacht along the Miami River.7News cameras captured a heavy police presence and several City of Miami Police cruisers with their lights on parked in the area of Southwest North River Drive and Second Street, near The Wharf Miami, just after 10 p.m., Sunday.The owner of the yacht said they chartered the vessel earlier in the day, and between 13 and 17 people were on board.The owner said, the people who they chartered the yacht to had paid, but at some point, when it came time to bring the yacht back to its proper dock, they held up the captain of the boat at gunpoint and demanded their money back.Thankfully, the boat’s owner said, no one was hurt, adding that another crew member had a cellphone and was able to secretly text for help.Cellphone video captured police officers with long guns and people with their hands up on board the yacht. A fiery scene led to power problems for more than a thousand residents in Broward County.A downed wire caused a fire in the area of 3000 Harbor Drive in Fort Lauderdale, Friday afternoon.The fire wasn’t the only problem. Some residents in the area said they were without power for up to 15 hours.Fort Lauderdale resident Delana LaHue described the moment she lost electricity.“I was very scared.
