Contra Costa deputy briefly hospitalized after vehicle pursuit ends in Oakand freeway crash OAKLAND — A Contra Costa County sheriff’s deputy was briefly hospitalized early Saturday when their vehicle was struck by a truck that was being pursued, authorities said.The pursuit began about 1:55 a.m. Saturday after a deputy attempted to make a traffic enforcement stop on the vehicle in El Sobrante. Death of 63-year-old woman found on sidewalk deemed accidental (BCN) -- The death of a 63-year-old woman found on a sidewalk last month with serious injuries in San Francisco's Bayview neighborhood has been ruled accidental, police said Monday. The woman, who has not been identified, was found July 3 in the area of Third Street and Egbert Avenue. Petaluma man wearing only fur-lined boots and speedo arrested on weapons charges She had life-threatening injuires and was taken to a hospital, where she died of her injuries. San Francisco police said they interviewed witnesses and obtained video footage of the incident but were unable to determine the exact cause of the woman's death.
